America’s Next Top Model Cycle 21 is starting in less than a week! To get you prepared, we met with four of the new male models selected by Tyra‘s team. Today, we introduce to you, Matthew Stephen Smith, and you know what? Don’t tell anyone, but he might just be our favorite.

« I’m not looking at all. »

« Happy, opinionated, athletic. »
Why did you try for America’s Next Top Model?
« I thought it was a long shot but I had someone pushing me along the way. I didn’t think it was going to happen to me, but then it did, and now I’m trying to process it. »
Who’s the best male model of all times?
« This is super cliché but, beside that super horrible Dior commercial, I would say Brad Pitt. »
Who’s the best female model of all times?
« I would say Emily Ratajkowski. »
Who’s your favorite designer?
« Hummm… I really like Robin’s Jean… Or Hugo Boss. »
What’s a top model worst nightmare? (a) slipping on the runway, b) tear a piece of designer clothing, c) Kelly Cutrone)
(He laughs) « Kelly Cutrone! »
What part of your body makes you the proudest?
« My heart… That’s pretty cliché too but… I’m a pretty emotionally connected person and I like that about myself. »
What’s the worst preconcieved idea people have about models?
« Man! For male models, that we’re all gay. That’s the worst one. The word gay is used  inappropriately towards male models 24/7. »
What’s your secret beauty tip?
« Keep you mind clean. »
What’s the best thing about fashion industry?
« All the people you meet. »
What’s the worst thing about fashion industry?
« The fashion part. »
What’s your best quality?
« I’m emotionally connected, I guess. »
What’s your worst flaw?
« I have no filter. It’s something I am proud of, but it’s also something… Some people think it’s hilarious and some other think I’m out of my mind… »
Did you model before America’s Next Top Model?
« Yes. »
Tell us something about you that might surprise people.
« I never once in my life said « I wish I could be a male model ». »
